Former Barcelona player, Coach and honourary President Johan Cruyff has given his thoughts on the Barcelona-Real Madrid rivalry, and called Jose Mourinho’s recent actions as ‘arrogant and impotent’.
The Dutchman, who has just seen his record of 11 trophies won at Barcelona now overtaken by Pep Guardiola, was speaking in an interview with El Periódico de Catalunya. In it, he criticised Mourinho’s recent behaviour that marred the Supercopa de Espana clash between the two clubs.
“I’ve never seen anything like it. There are millions of children worldwide who have a terrible example, yet in Madrid they are not taking care of anything. Mourinho may be a very good person in private, and a very good Coach, but to the world he shows something else. The club has an obligation to change this situation.”
