Former Atletico Madrid player Paulo Futre believes new signing Falcao has what it takes to surpass what former star Sergio Aguero have achieved at the club.
Falcao, who has joined Atletico from Porto for a fee of €40million, is seen as a first choice replacement for the recently departed Aguero, who joined Manchester City in a similar big-money transfer.
While Aguero has left behind very big boots to fill, having netted 102 goals in 234 appearances during his five-year spell at Atletico, Falcao also comes with an impressive record at Portugal, having bagged 73 goals in 88 appearances in his three years with Porto.
As a result Portuguese legend Futre believes that the Colombian hitman can score more than his predecessor solely because he is the archetypal goalscoring forward.
"This [Falcao] is a great signing," Futre told EFE. "He is a great player, perhaps he does not have Aguero's talent, but he is a better scorer.
