Real Madrid playmaker Ozil has denied that he was to blame for the brawl that resulted in a red card against Barcelona in Wednesday's heated Spanish Supercopa clash.
The game was between two best side in Europe and had been extremely entertaining and fairly good-natured till the last minute but tempers erupted in the final few moments when Real left-back Marcelo put in a crude tackle on Barca new boy Cesc Fabregas right after the Catalan side had taken a 3-2 lead in the dying moments of the game.
While Marcelo was shown a straight red, Ozil and Barca striker David Villa were also shown red, despite both having previously been substituted.
